Rate My Politician is a civic engagement app concept that allows users to rate and review politicians, stay informed on local political news, and connect with their local parties. The goal was to create a transparent, user-centered platform that empowers citizens to make informed decisions and hold elected officials accountable.
Goal
To make politics more transparent and engaging by giving citizens a platform to share opinions, track performance, and access local political information.
Persona
Two user personas guided the design process representing civic-minded individuals seeking trustworthy political insights.

Visual System
The visual identity emphasizes trust, simplicity, and clarity combining patriotic tones with a modern, minimal design

User Flow and Interactions
The user experience emphasizes quick, intuitive navigation  from logging in to rating a politician or exploring verified local news
 Wireframing
I started with low-fidelity wireframes to map out navigation and information hierarchy. The structure focused on three main sections:
Explore: Browse politicians by location or office.
News: View real-time, verified political updates.
Parties: Discover and learn about local political parties.
Final UI Screens
The final UI highlights readability, credibility, and engagement.
Each screen was designed for clarity, trust, and accessibility.

Challenges
Balancing transparency with credibility was a key design challenge. The solution was to clearly separate user-generated content from verified information, ensuring users could differentiate between opinion and fact.
Reflection
This project taught me how to design for trust, clarity, and accessibility — values that are essential for civic tech products. It reinforced the importance of balancing aesthetics with ethical responsibility in UX/UI design.
